General meeting with Whirlpool
Date: March 4, 2008
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Location: 135 MEB
Whirlpool is perhaps best known for its KitchenAid line of kitchen appliances; little known to students is its WERLD program, a leadership development program that is nearly unparalleled in the industry. Come to an informational meeting to learn more about opportunities at Whirlpool and the WERLD program; free smoothies will be served!
2. EOH Builds
Dates: February 26th, 27th and 28th (Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday) at 7:00 PM
Saturday,
March 1 at 1 PM
Location: ESPL
We are hosting three different exhibits this year for EOH. The first is a resurrection of last year's penny smasher that will punch a Block I into aluminum disks using a machined die and vice. The second is an interactive exhibit of a hydraulic dump truck that will simulate how a truck bed is lifted, and the third is an exhibit about distracted driving that will feature computer simulations requiring participants' attention for both simulated driving and an alternate task.
As EOH is fast approaching, we are constructing more this week on Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. For more information contact Carol Regalbuto
at mregalb2@uiuc.edu
3. ASME Philanthropy Director Position Open
Due to some unforeseen circumstances, our current philanthropy chair is going to have to step down for the remainder of the semester.
This chair is responsible for organizing philanthropic events, such as volunteering at foundations and events as well as putting together events where members and nonmembers alike can commit their time to participating in a fun activity such as in a kickball tournament where all the proceeds go to a charity.
Nominations for this position are open through Wednesday, March 4.
To nominate, or for more information on this position, contact Matt Savoie at msavoie2@uiuc.edu
4. ASME Movie Night
