1. Bar Crawl!!!

 

The thrilling, exhilarating, moving, stimulating, and incredibly entertaining ASME bar crawl is coming up on Tuesday, October 17^th! Invite your friends! The cost of the bar crawl is $7 (includes shirt and food). The last day to sign up for the bar crawl is TOMORROW, Tuesday, October 10^th from noon – 4 pm in the MEL lounge, so hurry! Email Kaz Haruna at kharun2@uiuc.edu for any questions.

 

 

2. Homecoming Float

 

For those of you who haven’t heard, our homecoming float was a huge success! A big thanks to everyone who helped out with the float; it really turned out great. For those of you who couldn’t make it, the parade was a lot of fun. Once again, thank you!

 

 

3. Philanthropy Committee

Anyone interested in working on philanthropy projects, such as food drives, charity tournaments, relay for life, tutoring etc… Please email the philanthropy chair Sarah Brewer at Sbrewer2@uiuc.edu. The philanthropy committee is a great way to get involved with ASME, looks great on a resume, and gets you lots of participation points! In addition, there are several other committees available in ASME. Go to http://asme.ec.uiuc.edu/committees.htm to see which of these committees you would like to join.

 

 

4. Intramural Volleyball

 

ASME is starting a co-ed intramural volleyball team! Sign up at http://asme.ec.uiuc.edu/signups.php. We are especially looking for team captains; email Kaz Haruna at kharun2@uiuc.edu if you are interested. Sign-ups are due October 17^th, so hurry! Also, for those of you who are interested, the ASME soccer team won our first game, 4-nil. Thanks to everyone who came out!

 

 

5. Full-Contact Football

 

Need to release some aggression?  Come play some full-contact, 11-on-11 football on Mondays and Thursdays at 5:30pm on the South Quad.  Monday and Thursday are practices and Saturdays are scrimmages, which are all preparation for an intercollegiate tournament versus 5 other colleges in November.  This event is not sponsored by ASME, but several ASME members are on the team and we would love for you to join us!  Any questions, please e-mail Michael Hong at mkhong1@uiuc.edu.
