1. Executive Board Elections
ASME is one of the most prominent engineering societies on campus, and we have held many successful events and programs this year. Becoming an executive board officer can help you gain many valuable experiences in leadership and organizational skills. If you would like to run for an executive board position, you must submit an election petition to Kirk Strebel, strebel2@illinois.edu , by Sunday, April 19th, 2009. The election will be held Tuesday, April 21st at our general meeting. To download the election petition, follow this link: Election Petition
2. Meet the Exec Board Lunch
When: Wednesday, April 15th at 12pm
Where: Illini Union Ballroom
We will be having lunch in the Illini Union Ballroom with members from the exec board. If you are interested in running for a position for next year's board, come talk to current board members and learn about some of the benefits and duties involved. 3. Barcrawl!!
When: Wednesday, April 22nd: 8pm
SIGNUPS: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week - 10am-2pm at the MEL first floor tables
Cost of shirt - $10 at signup
The barcrawl will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd, so come out and have a guaranteed fun time! Shirt signups will be April 13th,14th, and 15th (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week) from 10am-2pm at the MEL tables. The shirts are $10 and payment is required at the time of signup. Shirt pickups will be early next week.
4. Softball Update
Unfortunately because the weather has been so bad the past few weeks, the co-rec softball league was change by the university to a single-elimination tournament. We will still be participating in that tournament, but cannot be guaranteed more than one game. Thanks for all who showed interest in the league and if you would still like to play in the softball tournament, contact Mark at mcoticc2@illinois.edu.
5. Happy Hour!
When: Friday, April 17th: 4-? pm
Where: South side tables at Legends
We will be meeting again this Friday at 4pm to hang out and relax. Meet up at the south side tables at Legends -- half price appetizers! If you have questions, email Mark at mcoticc2@illinois.edu.
6. Paintballing v. ASCE
When: Sunday, May 3rd: 11:45am-4:00pm
Where: Firemark Paintball
We will having another paintball match again ASCE this semester on Sunday, May 3rd at Firemark Paintball. The cost will be $10 with gear and paintballs included. Space is limited; sign up at asme.ec.uiuc.edu/signups.php. If you have questions, email Mark at mcoticc2@illinois.edu.
