1. General Meeting with Honeywell

* When: Tuesday, March 31st at 5:30pm
* Where: 135 MEB

Join ASME for a general meeting with Honeywell, a leading company in the innovation of aerospace products, controls, and specialty materials. There will be a chance to interact with company representatives while enjoying free dinner! Look for flyers after spring break for more info. 2. Tech Elective Night

* When: Thursday, April 2nd
* Where: TBD

Not sure what technical or MechSE electives you should take? Want to know more about the offered classes? Come to Tech Elective night to hear professors explain more about the courses they will be hosting in the fall. The location is still to be determined, so look for more information in future emails. 3. Peer Advising

* When: Wednesday, April 8th at 5pm
* Where: The first floor MEL tables

Come get some help choosing your classes for next semester from upper classmen who can give you good advice. Get info on course loads, good professors, and more! A light dinner will be provided. Questions? Email Jeremy Koch at jakoch2@illinois.edu.

4. Externship Opportunity with ArcelorMittal

* When: Tuesday – Thursday March 24 – 26, 2009 starting around 10 a.m. each day
* Where: The Riverdale Facility (South Chicagoland area)

ArcelorMittal, one of the largest steel companies in the US, has extended an invitation to host up to five students from ASME in an externship over spring break. An externship will include a one day site visit and two days of learning about and observing what engineers and supervisors do in ArcelorMittal. 5. Undergraduate Mentoring Survey
The MechSE department has created a committee to look at what can be done to enhance and improve undergraduate mentoring in our department. All MechSE undergraduates received a survey so that this committee can get feedback on what students think about how well MechSE has provided for undergraduate educational planning, research exposure, and interaction with faculty. It is important that you complete this survey. MechSE wants to improve your undergraduate experience; this is a way to have your voice heard to what changes could be implemented in the department

6. Softball League
We are wondering who is interested in joining an intramural softball league! The league games begin March 30th. If you would be interested in joining, email Mark at mcoticc2@illinois.edu for more information.
