1. A letter from the
President-
First of all I would like to say it has been an honor and a privilege to lead an organization like ASME. I think we have really moved the society in the right direction this year and even hosted some new events such as Technical Topic Seminars, Women's Conference, and the Etiquette Dinner. I strongly believe that this organization is about much more than helping MEs find a job. I think that we are moving in a direction where we are focusing our efforts on professional development, outreach, and projects. An organization like ASME can not survive without two fundamental things; a motivated and driven board to lead it, and a membership to support it. I believe that we have both, and going forward I would urge all of you to continue to come to and support ASME sponsored events, as well as suggest to any of the board members activities you would like to see organized.
Lastly, I would like to say a special thanks to my executive board who worked so hard this year to put on a diverse and exciting array of programs. To those of you who are not graduating enjoy what time you have left here at U of I, and to those, like myself, who will be moving on please keep in touch and good luck in following whatever path you have chosen.
